Why families come to us

Most English programs teach vocabulary and stop.

Children sound fluent but cannot defend an idea, cite a source, or interpret what they read.

Fluent speech, weak explanation

Students can speak English but struggle to explain ideas clearly when the question gets harder.

Vocabulary without evidence

Students know words and phrases but cannot support answers with reasons, examples, or text evidence.

Sentences, not arguments

Students write correct sentences but cannot build a structured argument across paragraphs.

Memorized templates

Students prepare for exams using repetition and templates, leaving them stuck when prompts shift.

Confidence drops with complexity

Students lose confidence when literature, essay tasks, or seminar-style discussion become demanding.

The Three Beats

How Jurassic English Works

Three principles that make academic reasoning land — every lesson, every level.

Beat 1

Authentic Literature First

Your child reads real books, not abridged worksheets. Real stories carry the language, ideas, and depth that academic English requires.

Beat 2

Regulation-Before-Reasoning

Every lesson begins with calm attention. Thinking follows readiness — quiet learners thrive when the cycle is predictable.

Beat 3

The Jurassic Thinking Cycle™

A seven-stage routine — Regulate, Encounter, Analyze, Evaluate, Justify, Reflect, Publish — that your child uses every lesson to make reasoning visible.

Seven stages, every lesson

The Jurassic Thinking Cycle

A seven-stage routine that turns reading, speaking, and writing into a visible reasoning process — regulation first, then reasoning made visible.

01

Regulate

Begin with calm. Thinking follows readiness.

02

Encounter

Meet the text. Notice. Wonder.

03

Analyze

Look closely. What does the text actually say?

04

Evaluate

Weigh choices, voices, and consequences.

05

Justify

Support ideas with evidence and reasoning.

06

Reflect

Connect learning to self, others, and the world.

07

Publish

Make thinking visible. Add it to the portfolio.

The visible architecture

What Is CEIW?

CEIW is the visible architecture your child learns to use. We teach it from Level 1 in age-appropriate forms. The architecture stays the same. The depth grows.

MovePlain statement
CClaim
The point your child is making.
EEvidence
The proof from the text.
IInterpretation
What the evidence means.
WWarrant
The underlying principle.
+Impact
Senior levels (4 & 5)
The consequence of accepting the argument.

Impact appears at senior levels (4 and 5). Counter-warrants are added at Level 5 for exam-ready argument.

Teacher-led. Auditable. Quiet.

What Is the Digital Reasoning Engine?

The Digital Reasoning Engine (DRE) is a quiet tool that makes your child’s thinking visible. It captures their work, organizes their portfolio, and helps us send you clear updates.

The DRE does

  • Show your child the reasoning scaffold
  • Capture portfolio evidence
  • Send you clear updates
  • Stay teacher-led

The DRE does not

  • Replace your child's teacher
  • Grade work autonomously
  • Predict exam scores
  • Write your child's response

The teacher always has the final word.

What students build

Visible Growth Parents Can Understand

Student growth is tracked through diagnostic tasks, speaking samples, CEIW writing, reflection records, and Growth Portfolio artifacts.

Speaking confidence

Structured speaking practice with accountable talk and oral defense of ideas.

Reading comprehension

Literature-based reading that builds inference, interpretation, and depth.

Academic vocabulary

Word Fossil records and contextual vocabulary built through reading and writing.

Evidence-based writing

CEIW writing — claim, evidence, interpretation, warrant — across paragraph and essay tasks.

Literature interpretation

Analytical reading of stories, characters, and themes with structured response tasks.

Structured reflection

Reflection records that make student thinking visible after each cycle.

Portfolio evidence

A Growth Portfolio of writing, speaking, and reflection samples parents can review.

Exam-transfer readiness

Reasoning structures that transfer to IELTS, IB, Cambridge, and academic English tasks.

Inclusive by design

Built for Every Learner

We diversify the route, not the academic demand.

Jurassic English gives students structured ways to read, speak, write, and show their thinking while keeping expectations high. Learners may need different routes into the work, but every student is still guided toward serious academic English.

Multiple ways to read

Text, audio-paired reading, and pre-taught vocabulary support every reader.

Multiple ways to listen and respond

Scaffolded oral retell and structured speaking time make participation predictable.

Multiple ways to write

Typed, handwritten, drawn, or dictated — the destination is the same.

Predictable lesson rhythms

Regulation first, then reasoning. Lesson order stays the same so attention can deepen.

Embedded access plans

Documented access notes are read carefully and supported inside the lesson, not as an exception.

No single learner singled out

Access is part of the room. Every learner is invited to contribute, never forced.

Where families start

Start with a Student Thinking Diagnostic

The diagnostic is a placement conversation, not a test. It helps identify how the student currently reads, speaks, writes, justifies ideas, and reflects in English — and recommends a Level 1–5 placement. There is no fail.

Short reading or story response

How the student engages with a story or short text — what they notice and how they respond.

Oral explanation

How clearly the student speaks, organizes ideas, and explains a position out loud.

Written response

How the student structures a written answer at sentence and paragraph level.

Evidence-use check

How the student uses examples, quotations, or details to support an idea.

Reasoning profile

Where the student sits across analyze, evaluate, justify, and reflect.

Recommended level placement

A specific Level 1–5 recommendation with notes for parents and teachers.

45 minutes. No score. Just a clear next step.

Specific pricing is provided after the Student Thinking Diagnostic so the recommended pathway matches the learner's level, goals, and support needs.

Growth Portfolio

Progress You Can See

Each Jurassic English student builds a Growth Portfolio over time — not a grade, but visible evidence of how their reasoning, writing, and academic English are developing.

  • Word Fossil vocabulary records

Student-built vocabulary entries with context, meaning, and example use.

  • Because Bridge responses

Short reasoning artifacts linking claim to evidence using a structured frame.

  • Claim + evidence paragraphs

Paragraph-level work showing the move from opinion to interpretation.

  • CEIW writing samples

Full claim-evidence-interpretation-warrant pieces collected over time.

  • Seminar reflections

Written reflections after accountable-talk discussions and seminar tasks.

  • Before / after writing revisions

Revision pairs that show how a draft has been strengthened with feedback.

  • Parent progress summaries

Periodic summaries that translate evidence into parent-readable progress notes.
