Who we are

Jurassic AI Speaking is run by Nathaniel Jay Adams (Jurassic English™), Hanoi. Contact for anything in this notice: info@jurassicenglish.com.

What we collect

When you order credits: your full name, the email address or Zalo number you give us, your order code, the pack you chose, the amount and the payment date.

If you tick the optional updates box, we also record that choice and when you made it, and may email you occasional news about Jurassic English. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing us; it does not affect your order.

When you use credits: your access code and how many credits it has used. We do not record which answers were scored.

When you take a mock: the answers you type or, if you choose speaking mode (beta), a recording of each answer you speak and the text and measures made from it. They are used only to produce your report (see the next sections) and are not saved by us.

Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps short technical logs (for example IP address and time of request) to keep the service secure and working.

Where your answers go

Your answers (typed, or the text of your spoken answers) are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic (USA), to produce your feedback. We do not store your answers. The provider does not use them for training and deletes them within 30 days.

Your report is shown in your browser and is not stored on our servers. Save or print it if you want to keep it.

Speaking mode (beta)

Speaking mode (beta, optional): if you choose to speak your answers, a recording of each spoken answer goes from your browser to a processing service we run on Vercel in Singapore, which passes it to Microsoft Azure Speech (Singapore). It is used only to write down what you said and to measure pronunciation and fluency (for example speech rate, pauses and Azure's 0–100 pronunciation indicators), never to identify you. The recordings do not pass through our website. Jurassic English does not store or log them, and our processing service on Vercel handles each one in memory only and keeps no audio; Microsoft processes them and discards them under its own terms. The text of what you said and the measures are then sent to our scoring AI provider, like typed answers. Measures from speech are practice estimates in beta, not exact measurements. You can type your answers instead at any time.

Speaking mode is optional and has its own consent box, separate from the consent to AI scoring. Your browser asks before the microphone is used; if you do not allow it, or prefer not to speak, you can type your answers instead.

Questions read aloud on the exam page, where available, use an AI-generated voice and are labelled "AI voice".

Where your data is stored

Order and credit records are kept in a Supabase database located in Seoul, South Korea.

The website and scoring requests run on Vercel servers in the United States.

Speaking-mode recordings go through a processing service we run on Vercel in Singapore to Microsoft Azure Speech (Singapore). They are handled in memory only and are not stored by us.

How long we keep it

Order and payment records: as long as we need them for payment, refund and tax records.

Access codes and credit balances: until the credits expire (12 months after purchase), then kept only as part of the order record.

Your answers (typed or spoken), their text and any speaking-mode measures: not kept by us after the report is produced. Speaking-mode recordings are never kept by us: our processing service on Vercel in Singapore handles each one in memory and keeps no audio, and Microsoft processes and discards it under its own terms.

Live Speaking Baseline

If you book a Live Speaking Baseline (a live session on Google Meet with our assessor), we collect your full name, your email address, your email language, your confirmation that you are 18 or older, who the session is for (yourself, or your child's name and age with your consent as parent or guardian), whether you agreed to recording and when, your booking and session time, the Google Meet link, the four criterion bands and overall band your assessor records, which parallel test form was used, and short notes your assessor adds to your booking.

Why: to take your payment, schedule and run the session, send you your result and plan, and keep accounting records.

Learners under 18: a parent or legal guardian books the session with their own name and email and gives consent for the session and for us to use the child's name, age and results as described here. We collect the child's name and age, and everything is sent to the parent. At the start of the session the parent confirms consent on camera and the child is asked if they are happy to begin. Sessions with learners under 18 are never recorded.

Recording is optional and only with your consent: you choose when you book, and you are asked again on camera before anything is recorded. You can say no at either point; without a recording the session runs on your assessor's live notes. If you agree, only the assessed part is recorded, in Google Meet, and the recording is kept in the assessor's Google account.

Where it is stored: your booking record in the same database as orders (Supabase, Seoul); any recording in Google (Google Meet / Google Drive). Your photo ID is only shown on camera for the identity check; it is never copied or kept.

How long: a recording is deleted within 30 days of your session. Your booking record and bands are kept for 24 months for accounting, then deleted.

Booking and payment run automatically through two services. Google: when you pick a time, the session is added to our Google Calendar with a Google Meet link, and Google sends you a calendar invitation. The calendar event holds only your booking code, your email address and the time; never a child's name or age. To offer free times we read only whether our own calendar is busy, never anything about you. Google stores this data outside Vietnam. SePay (a Vietnamese payment service connected to our MB Bank account) tells us when your transfer arrives; we keep the amount, the bank's transaction reference and the booking code it matched, not your name, account number or transfer message.

How long, for these: the calendar event stays in our calendar as the appointment record and is deleted with your booking record (24 months), or sooner if you ask. Google Meet does not record a session unless you agreed to recording and we start it. Payment notifications are kept with the booking record for accounting.

No audio from the session passes through this website, and nothing about your baseline is sent to an AI service.

To see, correct or delete your booking data, or to withdraw your recording consent, email info@jurassicenglish.com with your booking code (see “Your choices and rights” below).

What we never do

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share your contact details with anyone except as needed to take payment and provide the service.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, or withdraw your consent, by emailing info@jurassicenglish.com with your order code. We normally reply within 7 working days.

Withdrawing consent stops future scoring; it does not undo reports already produced.

Age

The AI practice mock is for users aged 18 and over. Do not use it if you are under 18; our teacher-led Young Learners programme is for younger students. The Live Speaking Baseline accepts learners under 18 only when a parent or legal guardian books it and gives consent (see “Live Speaking Baseline” above).
