Practice and assessment

What can typed IELTS-style speaking practice assess?

Typed practice can reveal wording, grammar, vocabulary and visible organization. It cannot assess pronunciation or the full delivery of spoken answers.

What text can show

A typed response can be reviewed for visible wording, vocabulary choices, grammar and how ideas are organized. It can support reflection and help a learner plan a clearer answer.

What text cannot show

Typed text does not contain pronunciation, intelligibility, pace, hesitation or spoken interaction. Those require audio or a live spoken performance. A text-based result must not be presented as a complete IELTS Speaking assessment.

Use the result as a practice aid

Use written feedback to choose a small revision, then practise speaking aloud and, where appropriate, seek human feedback on delivery. AI feedback is formative and may be wrong; check important advice against a teacher and the public criteria.
