Choose the right IELTS route
North South University says an IELTS 7.0 score can waive its admission test when the other admission conditions are met. That is a waiver condition, not a general entry band. Read the published requirement or data.
An NSU waiver and a UK study application are different decisions. Read each admissions rule in full, including the conditions beyond the IELTS figure. A provider’s test booking does not establish that an applicant qualifies for either route.
What the Speaking evidence means

For a speaking lesson, bring a question you answered under time pressure. The teacher can listen for how you introduce a change, explain its consequence and handle a follow-up. A recorded sample is more useful for this purpose than an average from all test takers.
A practice sequence for Bangladesh
Return to the recording after a guided exercise. Identify one sentence that now conveys an effect clearly and one that still needs an example. Then speak on an unfamiliar topic to see whether you can apply the same reasoning independently.
Ask NSU whether the waiver applies to your application. For overseas study, read the destination programme’s own score requirements. Booking a practice session never replaces the recipient’s rules.
Available ways to practise
If you want a short live starting point, the paid Baseline records a limited practice sample. One-to-one lessons provide further guided speaking. Adults aged 18 and over can use the AI Speaking tool at another time; verify its advice before acting on it.
If a local test waiver is relevant, confirm the full admissions conditions before treating IELTS as a substitute for an entrance exam. During Speaking practice, choose a question that asks for a comparison. Explain one difference and its consequence, then try to express the same reasoning on a new topic.
What a Bangladesh booking actually covers
IDP Bangladesh lists computer-delivered Academic and General Training testing across its centres, including Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Khulna and Rajshahi. It also lists IELTS for UKVI, Life Skills and One Skill Retake products. These labels reflect different application purposes. A candidate should first identify the test accepted by the institution or authority receiving the result, then select the corresponding provider product and centre.
A Dhaka applicant considering North South University should read the published undergraduate waiver rule closely: IELTS 7.0 can waive the admission test for the specified BA in English and BSS Media, Communication & Journalism routes when other admission conditions are met. It is not a general university entry score. The question for a coaching session could be how clearly the applicant explains a course choice; the formal waiver decision remains with NSU.
UK study and the national data
UK government data count 10,828 sponsored study visa grants to Bangladeshi nationals in the year ending December 2025, up 71% from the previous year. That helps describe interest in UK study but does not imply one IELTS requirement for Bangladeshi students. A destination degree may ask for an overall score and separate minimum components. Record both before paying for an exam.
The ielts.org 2024–25 Academic performance file gives Bangladesh a Speaking mean of 5.88 and an overall mean of 6.00. The same nationality row reports Reading 6.23, Listening 5.82 and Writing 5.83. These are group means; a learner’s own recording and official test report are different evidence. Use a spoken sample to choose a practice task, and use the official result when checking admission conditions.
